AOIFE DOYLE & BAND

Aoife Doyle is a vocalist, songwriter and composer originally from Bray, Co. Wicklow now living in Co. Clare. Aoife has been singing from as far back as she can remember.

Her unique, expressive voice is equally at home with soul, folk, blues or jazz and can evoke memories of the sophisticated, velvet tones of Ella Fitzgerald, the earthy, sweet lyricism of Patsy Cline or the straight-up country clarity of Alison Krauss.

For Brilliant Corners, Aoife will be joined by her band of stellar musicians including pianist Greg Felton, bassist Andrew Csibi and drummer Dominic Mullan. They will be showcasing music from Aoife’s third studio album ‘Infinitely Clear’ a soothing, soulful mix of jazz, folk, soul and blues.

“Aoife Doyle combines the guts and vulnerability of a blues singer with the poise and musicianship of a well-schooled jazz artist.” – The Irish Times

Formed in 2019, The RBG Trio is a collective of 3 of Ireland’s leading jazz artists – Meilana Gillard (tenor saxophone), Dave Redmond (bass), and Kevin Brady (drums). Their style ranges from the traditional saxophone trio canons of Sonny Rollins and Joe Henderson to more contemporary jazz sounds. Free-form explorations rub shoulders with rock and pop covers from the likes of Nirvana and Soundgarden.

Each member composes for the group which lends to the trio’s diverse and unique sound. The interplay and storytelling improvisations are a renowned feature of this vibrant ensemble.

The trio are currently composing music for their first release due in 2022.
